Troy A. Pentecost, President, Interim Senior Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer
Troy A. Pentecost, a 35-year hospitality veteran, joined FelCor as Executive Vice President and Director of Asset Management in March 2006. He was named Chief Operating Officer in 2010 with direct responsibility for the asset management and design and construction groups. Prior to FelCor, Mr. Pentecost was with Remington Hotel Corporation as Senior Vice President of Operations and Divisional Vice President of Operations. In his role, he was responsible for the company’s Operational and Sales activity. Prior to Remington, Mr. Pentecost was with Wyndham International in various management roles including Regional Vice President, Area Director and General Manager, from 1993 to 2004. Mr. Pentecost also worked previously with Guild Hotel Management Company where he served as Regional Vice President and Director of Operations.
Thomas C. Hendrick, Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer
Thomas C. Hendrick was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of FelCor in 2015, having previously served as a member of FelCor’s Board of Directors since 2007. Mr. Hendrick is a well-known longtime developer of hotels and mixed-use commercial real estate projects in the U.S., the Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America. He is highly-regarded as both an independent developer and with leading hotel development and management companies, including Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Regent International Hotels, Remington Hotels, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and The Kor Group. Mr. Hendrick served as a pilot on active duty in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972, attaining the rank of lieutenant. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Florida.
Michael C. Hughes, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Michael C. Hughes is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of FelCor. During his tenure at FelCor, Mr. Hughes served as Vice President of Finance, Senior Vice President of Finance and Treasurer. Mr. Hughes has more than 18 years of experience in finance, having also served as the Vice President of Corporate Finance for Wyndham International, Inc., and as a business consultant with Maverick Management LLC. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Rhodes College and is a holder of the Charter Financial Analyst designation.
Jonathan H. Yellen, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Prior to joining FelCor in July 2006, Mr. Yellen practiced law at Barclay Damon LLP, Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP, Latham & Watkins LLP, and served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Digital Lighthouse Corporation and Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. Mr. Yellen also previously served as an independent director, and chaired the audit committee, of Avadyne Health, a privately-held provider of healthcare receivable management services.
Mr. Yellen has an extensive history of community leadership, having served on the boards of Vogel Alcove, Inc., Buffalo Prep, Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association and Jewish Family Service of Dallas. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts. Mr. Yellen is a graduate of Amherst College, Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fisk Stone Scholar, and Georgetown University Law Center.
Robert P. Carl, Senior Vice President and Director of Design & Construction
Robert P. Carl is Senior Vice President and Director of Design and Construction at FelCor. Prior to FelCor, Mr. Carl served as Vice President of Purchasing and Project Management for Remington Hotel Corporation. During his tenure with Remington, he also served as Regional Vice President of Operations at Remington, where he oversaw limited-service hotels; Vice President of Operations/Conversions, where he led the opening of five Embassy Suites Hotels and the conversion of mid-scale properties into upscale brands.
Jeffrey D. Symes, Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer
Jeffrey D. Symes is Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, and Treasurer at FelCor. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Symes worked at KPMG as a senior manager in the Dallas operating office and KPMG's national Department of Professional Practice. Mr. Symes graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. Mr. Symes is a certified public accountant, a member of Financial Executives International, and past-president of the Real Estate Financial Executives Association.
